Thursday October 8, 2026 - Thursday Wanderers - SKINNER'S LOOP AT BLUE MARSH

4 miles

Hike will be led on an in and out hike to the shore of Blue Marsh Lake at Skinners loop. Beautiful views of the Lake along the way. Option for a longer hike if the group agrees.

MEET & TIME: 10:00 A.M. - 199 Lake Road, Robesonia Pa

DIRECTIONS: From route 222 North, take Route 183 North (Bernville Road) for about 6 miles. Turn left onto Old Church Road. Travel .7 miles and turn left onto Lake Road. Continue to the end of Lake Road to the parking area.

Saturday October 3, 2026 - BULL FROG PARK

4.5 to 5 - mile loop

We will complete a beautiful loop hike starting from Bullfrog Valley Park. This custom route blends the paved Jonathan Eshenour Memorial Trail, park paths through Shank Park, and a short neighborhood sidewalk connector. Portable toilets are available at Bullfrog Valley Park and indoor restrooms are present at Shank Park.

DIRECTIONS:  From Reading, for about 22.6 miles follow US-222 S and merge onto the right lane to follow US 222 S / US 30 W / PA 283 W, continue to follow US-30 W for about 1.8 miles and keep left to continue onto 283 W and then continue to follow signs for PA-283 W for 21.4 miles. (This is a total of 47.6 miles from Reading) Take the Hummelstown exit (0.4 mi) and merge onto Vine St. in Londonderry Township and make a Right onto Vine St. / Middletown Rd. and travel 1.5 miles. Take a Right onto Wood Rd. and in 1.5 miles make a Right on Bullfrog Valley Rd. Destination is about 0.1 miles on the road.

Thursday October 1, 2026 - Thursday Wanderers - NEVERSINK HIKE

 5 miles

Leader will take us on  a 4.5-5 mile hike around the western end of Neversink Mountain. We will take the south trail to 9th St, then connect to the north trail which we take to the Witches Hat. We return via the glen. This hike is as easy as Neversink gets, no tough hills, but a constant uphill.

Saturday September 26, 2026 - BRYN COED PRESERVE

~ 5 miles, moderate

We will be making a loop around the preserve.  There will be a mix of open, grassy meadow trails and dirt woodland paths, which can be muddy after rain. There will be a few short hills.  If the weather is nice, hikers could bring a picnic lunch and eat at nearby Opalanie Park. 1422 St. Matthews Road, Chester Springs, PA   

MEET and TIME: 10:00 AM - in the main parking lot for the preserve, 1869 Flint Road, Chester Springs, PA 19425

DIRECTIONS: Take route 422 or route 724 east, past Birdsboro and Douglassville, to Pottstown. Turn right onto route 100 south.  Travel 4-5 miles and make a left onto Pughtown Road.  Travel about 5 miles and make a right onto St. Matthews Road.  Travel about 1 mile and turn left onto Flint Road. Thursday September 24, 2026 - THE BIG WOODS TRAIL

4 miles

Hikers will be led on a 2.5 mile hike down the Big Woods Trail to the Schuylkill River Trail and then on to Union Meadows. There will be a stop to sit and view Monocacy Hill from Clyde Godshall’s bench, which is located midway down the trail. An optional extension of the hike either around the Union Meadows Loop Trail or onto the Schuylkill River Trail will be available for those wishing a longer hike. There will be a shuttle to the top of the Big Woods trail to begin the hike.

DIRECTIONS: Head east on route 724 from Birdsboro. After passing the intersection with route 345, go roughly another .9 mile and turn left behind Fork and Ale Restaurant on route 724.

Approx. 5 miles   Easy to medium

This is an easy hike mostly on a level land from Oaks through Collegeville. We can plan a total of 5 mile in and out hike depending on the group

Lunch: There are a number of Indian restaurants in this area. We could try "Dawat" if the group is into it

DIRECTIONS: Take Route 422E to the Oaks exit. Turn Right at light then Right again into the park.

Thursday September 17, 2026 - BLUE MARSH FROM THE VISITOR CENTER

 4-5 miles

Hikers will be led through a figure 8 hike at Blue Marsh from the visitor center to the spillway and

beyond. There are a few minor hills.

Saturday September 12, 2026 - BARTRAM TRAIL

Approx. 4-6 miles Flat

This is an in-out walk.  We can do as much or as little as people want.

Lunch is optional afterwards.

MEET & TIME:  9:30 AM at parking lot on Kernsville Dam Road

DIRECTIONS:  Take Route 61 North. Go past route 78 thru the construction zone.

Turn RIGHT onto Jetson Road at the traffic light (Starbucks is at the corner).  At the T turn RIGHT onto Industrial Drive. Continue till you cross the Railroad Tracks.Turn LEFT onto Kernsville Dam Road. Park in Large Parking lot.

Thursday September 10 - BLUE MARSH HIKE

Leader will take  hikers on the Dog Lake and Switchback Trails at Blue Marsh

MEET & TIME: 9:30 AM at Stilling Basin - Upper lot near the basin 

DIRECTIONS: From Route 183 north, turn left at the CVS onto W. Leesport Road. Turn right onto County Welfare Road. At stop sign, turn left onto Palisades Road, then right into the Stilling Basin. Heavy rain will cancel.
