Membership in the BCHC is $10.00 per person per year in order to receive the quarterly newsletter. Further information on membership can be obtained when attending a scheduled hike. Other subgroups within the BCHC are the "Thursday Wanderers." Most hikes are followed by a dinner stop. We call ourselves "The Eating Club with a Hiking Disorder"! ****Hiking and Trail Guidelines: ** Be courteous & stay behind the leader unless directed otherwise.** Offer $.10/mile to driver when carpooling. * *In the event of inclement weather, the hike may be canceled.** Please leave your pets at home.**If unable to keep a club commitment, please find a replacement. * Wear blaze orange during hunting season (Sept 1 to last day of Feb). * Appropriate footwear and attire should match the type of hike.** If you leave the hike early, notify the hike leader or ask someone to do that for you.** Bring water and food as the hike description and weather demand.* * Hiking involves risk. Come out prepared and know your capabilities. Each hiker is responsible for their own safety and well-being.

Beat the summer crowd by going on a weekday, before school's summer break.

Park Hours: 10 am to 6 pm

Cost: Free Admission to this amusement park; pay as you go for the rides ("PAY ONE" - Price is not available for this day, sorry!); Pool rates: $5.50 for swim only or $12.00 for combo (swim & slide)

Ned Smith Center for Nature & Art - Saturday June 2. 2007

5 miles (Moderate)

Hike on mostly new trails around the nature center and surrounding area. The Ned Smith Center celebrates the life and works of Ned Smith, a wildlife artist, writer, and naturalist. There is a gift shop and gallery (open from 10am to 4 pm) which has a collection of art exhibits. It is suggested that you bring water and snacks.

1st Meeting Place: 9:00 am at Boyer's IGA on routes 422 and 419 in Womelsdorf.

2nd Meeting Place: 10:00am at Ned Smith Center

Blue Marsh/ Stilling Basin - Saturday May 19, 2007

4 plus miles (easy terrain)

Hike the trails around Blue Marsh from the Stilling Basin. some hills, but mostly flat. We may see the wildflowers in bloom.

Meeting Place: 10:00 am, Stilling Basin parking lot. (Directions: Go out route 183 North, turn left at Bern Church onto Palisades Drive, pass the Visitor's Center, turn right at the Stilling Basin sign, then go 1.5 miles to the parking area.)

We'll shuttle from the town of Lawn to Elizabethtown and then take an easy level hike from Elizabethtown back to Lawn. Optional restaurant stop afterwards.
