4 to 5 moderate miles
See French Creek State Park in the snow. This hike will be in the deep woods and pine forest on the Horseshoe Trail and other park trails. Hiking to the highest point in the park—the fire tower—we will then circle back past a “maple sugar bush.” If sap is flowing, we will stop for a brief visit to watch how the maple sap is collected and made into syrup. Expect some rocks and hills. Optional lunch later.
Meeting place: 10:00 am, Scott’s Run Parking lot off of Scott’s Run Road in French Creek State Park
