Saturday July 2, 2016 - Kaercher Creek Dam & Vicinity

Approx. 5 moderate miles

Walk some of the old trails in the now closed Kaercher Creek County Park, due to a disagreement between Berks County and the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission. We will see some of the graded, but never built Allentown and Auburn Railroad, as well as a nice blend of woods and roads. Lunch later of course!

Meeting place: 9:00 am at former boat launch area. Take Rte 61 N. to Hamburg. Turn right at yellow blinker onto Old Rte 22 (before I-78 interchange). Go approx. 1.5 mile to destination. If you reach Pond Drive you went a little too far. (This route avoids 4th Street road closure in Hamburg.)

GPS ADDRESS: 3501 Old U.S. 22, Hamburg

For more information or further directions, contact: 610-921-3252 or 610-451-5380 morning of the hike
