Saturday February 24, 2018 - Winter Walk Along the Tulpehocken

4 easy miles

Walk along the Tully on a cold, crisp winter day, hopefully leaving boot prints in the snow. Starting at the Berks Leisure area, we will follow the path past Gring’s Mill to the Red Bridge area. Extreme weather cancels. Optional lunch follows.

Meeting place: 10:00 am, Berks Leisure parking lot

Directions: From Berkshire Blvd past Fox Theater on right to Tulpehocken Road, make left past Country Meadows into Leisure parking lot.

Saturday February 17, 2018 - Exeter Scenic River Trail & Allegheny Aqueduct Historical Park

5 to 6 moderate miles
We will hike the Exeter Scenic River Trail while taking in plenty of good views of the Schuylkill River in its wintery glory. Later, we will cross the river and hike through the Allegheny Aqueduct Historical Park and observe the Beidler House, the ruins of the Beidler Mill and the restored Allegheny Aqueduct. Lunch after the hike is an option.

Saturday February 10, 2018 - Shillington Park hike

4 to 5 easy miles

Come out and enjoy a local hike on wooded trails and suburban roads in Shillington Park and surrounding neighborhoods. The hike will be mostly easy miles with a few hills. Optional lunch follows. Extreme weather cancels.

Saturday February 3, 2018 - Skinner's Loop Trail Blue Marsh

4 to 5 moderate miles

Depending on the weather and winter conditions, Suzanne will begin this hike at the Old Church Road parking lot and use the Blue Marsh Lake multi-use trail to access Skinners Loop. Dress appropriately for the weather and be prepared for changes, if winter isn’t cooperating. Snow or rain on the day of the hike will cancel.

Meeting place: 9:30 am, Old Church Road parking lot, off Rt. 183, near Bernville 

Directions: North on Rte 183. Left on Old Church Road (5.5 miles from 222). Parking lot is one-tenth mile from 183 on left.

Saturday January 27, 2018 - Nolde Forest Hike

4 to 5 moderate miles

Shake off those winter blues and holiday splurges. Follow “directionally challenged” Fran on a Nolde hike. She will be bringing a map! Snow does not cancel, only a Blizzard!!
